ACTOR | DIRECTOR | PRODUCER
Jamie is pleased to be studying with Master Acting teacher David Johnson in Manchester and is looking forward to filming his show reel and rehearsing for his well received and respected Showcase.

FROM THEN - TO NOW
Through my teaching and the balance of the acting world, I have always kept the ethos of the great American acting teachers such as Strasberg, Hagen, Meisner and Adler; who always believed you should keep studying acting and involving yourself fully in life in balance with nature. I have certainly balanced the academic and the artistic journey always believing that if you teach it you should be able to do it. Hence, why I furthered my training with ALRA for fifteen months, and now with the acclaimed Acting Teacher David Johnson I am always looking for the most powerful acting technique that pushes myself and my students forward.
BIOGRAPHY
Jamie attended the well-established and respected Bristol Old Vic Youth Theatre under the tutelage of Director Brian Parsons; it was this initial experience that prompted his decision to apply to Drama School.
After auditioning for Drama Centre London in front of the late Yat Malgren and Christopher Fettes and at The Welsh College of Music and Drama of which he was accepted at both, he finally decided to take a degree course at The Arden School of Theatre in Manchester where he obtained his BA Acting Studies. The School provided a progressive route to Drama training utilising the concepts and traditional art forms merged with the demands needed to work on stage and screen. The principal Wyllie Longmore was a well-respected award winning actor and director with strong ties to The Royal Exchange Theatre which helped start the course of North West training in the region.

On graduating Jamie played many a diverse role within Manchester Fringe Festivals and across the North West, appearing at the newly ventured Taurus Bar where he was the first Theatre Company to grace their basement venue; The Kings Arms performing various new writing in “Embryo Nights” and the premiere of Making Love which garnered excellent reviews form Whatsonstage as well as Christopher Neil’s version of Richard III. As part of the NotManhcesterfestival he performed in the one man show written by Eric Bogosian “Pounding Nails in the Floor with my Forehead”.
Performing regularly with Projects directed by Helen Parry, ex Arden Senior Tutor and Manchester Theatre School Graduate, Jamie continued to perform, produce and direct Short Film Projects in collaboration with London Film Schools and production Companies in the North West.
After gaining a PGCE from Bolton University, Jamie began to balance his artistic work with freelance tutoring in Inner City Schools in the North West as well as local Colleges such as Warrington Collegiate, Southport College (Head of Drama) and a stint at Salford University and The Arden teaching and mentoring on their Degree courses.
He has Directed numerous productions at Southport College including; David Mamet’s Edmond, Glengarry Glen Ross, The Crucible, A Streetcar Named Desire, Orpheus Descending and Shakespeare’s Coriolanus as well as numerous Musicals including the North West Premiere of the Dracula Epic Late Sleepers at Southport Arts Centre. Whilst at Southport College he was given the full support of the Principal to undertake a Sabbatical at The Academy of Live and Recorded Arts to study an MA Professional Actor course where he received a Dance and Drama Award after auditioning successfully there.
